More than 1 million views in China and abroad tuned in to watch the online Awarding Ceremony of 10th International Space Design Award Idea-Tops, which was held in Shenzhen on May 16.

Except for the vacancy in the Transportation Space category, awards for the rest of the 17 categories in design and architecture found their winners from Australia, Italy, Spain, Vietnam, Belgium, the U.K., the Netherlands and China. Overseas designers won 9 Best Design Awards, while domestic designers received 8 Best Design Awards.

The winners were chosen by International Jury of Idea-Tops Award, who chose the winning projects according to the following judging criterias: innovativeness, functionality, artistry and invironmental protection. This year’s jury panel was represented by Meng Jianmin (Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, National master of architectural design, chief architect of Shenzhen Architectural Design Research Institute),Trevor Vivian (Global director of a world famous International Architecture Firm Benoy), Liu Yu-Tung (Doctor in Architecture of Harvard University and Vice President of Asia University, Taiwan), Steven Smit (Asia Director of a leading European architecture firm MVRDV) and others 8 leading figures in architecture and design fields.

McDonald's Times Square by Landini Associates (Australia), LocHal Library by Inside Outside, Civic Architects, Braaksma & Roos Architectenbureau (Netherlands), National Museum of Qatar Gift Shops by Koichi Takada Architects (Australia), Everything in Place House by Enorme Studio (Spain), NOT CLUB by RMA (China) and other amazing projects are among the design categories winners of 10th Idea-Tops Award.

Tibet·Ranwu International Campsite by Arch-Hermit (China), Sky House by MIA Design Studio (Vietnam), Garden Hotpot Restaurant by MUDA – Architects (China) and Steampunk by Gwyllim Jahn&Cameron Newnham, Igor Pantic, and SoomeenHahm Design (United Kingdom) have been named best in architecture categories this year.

The number of entries for 10th Idea-Tops Award has reached a new high, with 7637 projects from 53 countries and regions from all over the world. Studios on the shortlist are from China, Iran, Sweden, Estonia, Norway, Japan, Switzerland, France, India, Singapore, Mexico, Israel, Belgium, Indonesia, South Korea, Turkey and other countries.



Idea-Tops is the most international and influencial space design award in China. It aims to identify the world’s best architecture, interiors and design, as well as the studios and the individual architects and designers,who produce the most outstanding work.


Idea-Tops Award’s influence and low entry fees attract both big and small studios, and our judging criteria have been carefully considered to ensure that winning projects are not only beautiful and innovative, but also benefit users and the environment.
